HI gang,
For those of you wondering why the website hasn't changed much lately they
are having some technical difficulties at our provider. They believe they
know how to solve the problem but because we are a donated site we are at
the bottom of the service queue. They expect to have it corrected within a
few days.
Until then our website is 'stuck in the past', a time capsule of HCRA
history!
We still have our mailing list and that is current.
It's only a few weeks until the October meeting with Mike Raisbeck, K1TWF
followed in November by our annual Auction and then the Holiday Party in
December.
Speaking of the Auction now is the time to start putting aside either some
items to bring or saving some cash to purchase. We've made a few changes to
this year's auction. With help from Jim, K1JAW we will be featuring hot dogs
and soda in addition to the regular coffee & donuts. Jim is in the planning
stages now. If you have any suggestions on perhaps where to borrow a hot dog
roller/steamer please let us know. Jim is also looking for some help with
the hot dog stand, primarily to collect the money, Jim will do the cooking.
The raffle prize this year is a Yaesu VX-150R HT. Tickets will be available
at the October meeting at the usual price: $1 each or a book of 6 for $5.
Going to some local hamfests between now and the Auction? We have available
a pdf file of the 2009 Auction Flyer. Let me know and I'll email to you. If
some of our members going to a swapmeet would print and distribute the flyer
it would really help 'get the word out' about the Auction. Let us know if
you have any other ideas to help promote the auction, we're all ears.
In closing, please don't forget to renew for the new season. Renew by
October 2nd and you will automatically be entered in a drawing for an HCRA
Jacket & Cap, a $50 value. Renewing early also allows us to properly plan
our year knowing what size budget we have to work with.
