Hey gang,

Are you ready for Show & Tell this coming Friday? There's still a few days
to get your project ready by Friday, with time to spare. So get to it!

Not bringing a project? That's OK, you will find much of interest even if
you don't. The wide array of entries over the last few years have been
simply astounding. From well done projects by junior members all the way to
amplifiers that easily exceed what you would by commercially - and
everything in-between. If you've never attended an HCRA 'Show & Tell', and
of course even if you have, this is one meeting you don't want to miss.

New this year will be the 'Kit Builder' class. Entries will of course
include the folks who were lucky enough to score one of the half dozen kits
we gave away earlier this year as well as anyone else that has purchased a
kit and assembled it. The winner of this class will go home with a new ARRL
Antenna book.

Entries in the expert class will be competing for a $50 HRO gift
certificate. If past events are any indication the competition will be
tough. So break out your soldering iron and put the finishing touches on
your project. Don't forget, your creation will be judged on quality,
usefulness and documentation as well as the fact it probably should work!

As in the past HCRA judges reserve the right to prevent any project from
being turned on that could produce bodily injury or death! Or at least we
will make you take it out in the parking lot before turning it on. If you
need any ancillary equipment to demonstrate your creation be sure to bring
it along as well. HCRA will provide a table 120VAC power if you need it, the
rest is up to you.

It looks like the weather will be good by the end of the week. Hey, why not
use tomorrow's snow storm as an excuse to stay home and build something? No
sense in shoveling, it will melt soon anyway!

Of course all the usual things will be going on at the meeting. This month
we will be having a 50/50 raffle, coffee and donuts, fun and conversation.
Join all your friends this Friday and enjoy their company as well as a
chance to see local creativity in action.

'73 and see you Friday,

Jim, KK1W
