Less than a week to go until the big event. Eric, KB1JVI has volunteered to
set up and run a VHF/UHF station. We are looking for the following to help
him out.
1. A multi-mode rig at least capable on 2M, 6M or 70cm would be a plus.
2. Reasonable size antennas for 2M (6M or 70cm again a plus).
3. An easy to erect support for the antennas. A push up mast or a few
tower sections will do. Steve, N1SR has a push up mast but we are still
looking for any alternatives.
Eric has an early morning commitment on Saturday (final exam) but will be
able to start setup after 12:00 PM. Our plan is to house him in the gazebo.
We have power, coax and Eric has a PC (and the motivation) to get HCRA back
on VHF after a long dry spell. Can you help out in any way?
This station should be a fun one to operate. Expect to find quite a few
stations on the air and the chance to expose some of the local VHF/UHF ops
to something other than repeater use. Kudo's to Eric for volunteering (and
we wish him luck with his test earlier in the day).
Thanks,
Jim, KK1W
