Holy Field Day Batman, it's just around the corner!

OK Folks, the hands of time are rapidly spinning and the June events are
coming up fast.

Just this week we have a Field Day meeting scheduled for Tuesday, June 2nd,
The Tailgate party, elections and FD planning at the club meeting on Friday,
June 5th and of course Field Day at the end of the month.

For those of you looking to 'take a chance' we have the return of the Field
Day raffle, but with a twist! This year the winner will get their choice of
a prize. Purchase a ticket for $5 (5 for $20) and if you win you can pick
one of two great radios from Yaesu. The choices are a VX-150R talkie or a
FT-2800M mobile rig. You win, you choose - simple, eh? Oh yeah, a maximum of
75 tickets will be sold so your chances of winning are excellent. The
drawing will be held at the Field Day site (Dufresne Park) at 2:00 PM on
June 28th and will be held no matter how many tickets have been sold at that
time.

Tickets are available now and will be on sale at the tailgate party as well
as FD. Buy yours early before they're all gone.

I believe we are still looking for a VHF/UHF band captain and a public
information officer (PIO). Wouldn't you like to help out and have fun at the
same time? Contact John, Kx1x if you're interested. Thanks to those also
that have volunteered time, equipment or both since our last message.

The latest issue of Zero Beat is on the web and should be in your mailboxes
tomorrow. Twelve pages chock full of info for every HCRA member.

And what about the Tailgate Party? Its this Friday, June 5th. What are you
bringing/looking for? If you're bringing stuff along why not post a message
to the HCRA list so people will know to get there early and not miss out on
a bargain?

After the tailgate party we will have our annual elections, then break off
into Field Day planning for those that are interested. If you're still on
the fence about participating perhaps you should hang around as well. What
better way to understand the event than to listen in on the planning?

That's it for now - see you Friday,

Jim, KK1W
