I just bought a used 6m SSB/CW radio from a ham in Indiana. Made contacts with a few Georgia and NC stations on Tuesday evening 15 minutes after taking the rig out of the box! Also worked two stations - again from the SouthEast US - on 10 meters last weekend..
Both the 6 and 10 meter contacts were made working 10 watts off wire dipoles only about 20 feet off the ground. Yesterday I dragged out an old portable 6m 3 element yagi I used in my rovering days, threw an analyzer on it and waited for the band to open up. It didn't. Maybe tonight??
73 and have a good weekend! Al, K1SAV

Just a quick note to see if people are up and on the air. Even though
sunspots have taken a little break DX can still be found. I worked BX5AA
(Taiwan) earlier this morning on 20M.
Six meters (the magic band) has been open very well every afternoon.
Get on the air and have fun, keep us posted here on the list of your
successes!
