Yahoo! Summer is almost over and its time for the return of the monthly HCRA
meetings. The next meeting is this coming Friday, September 4th. Of course
at the usual place, the Feeding Hills Congregational Church at 7:30 PM.
In addition to the usual fun at an HCRA meeting we are honored to feature
the return of a popular speaker. Dan Henderson, N1ND will visit us again
this Friday. Dan well be chatting with us about the "Exploitation of Amateur
Radio" and what we can do to avoid it. N1ND is the Regulatory Information
Manager for the ARRL and is well versed in the subject. N1ND is an
interesting and informative speaker; you may remember him from his last
visit discussing contesting and other exciting amateur radio activities.
Tonight's meeting is one you won't want to miss, especially if you are
involved in EmComm at any level.
The September issue of Zero Beat is on its way to your mailbox but if you
can't wait simply point your browser to:
http://www.hcra.org/zerobeat/sep09.pdf and read all about what is happening
in at HCRA. Also on the web site are the minutes from the August board
meeting.
September is renewal month, as most of you know very well. Dues have not
changed again this year even though we have been facing ever increasing
costs with everything that we do. Field Day, Zero Beat, the Holiday Party
and the room rental at the church all increased last year. The best way we
can combat the increased costs is a whole hearted membership drive. Other
than the Holiday Party (and printed Zero Beat) the more members we have the
better we are able to cover our fixed costs.
So please take a moment to fill out the application enclosed in your
September Zero Beat and either mail it in or bring it with you to Friday's
meeting. Your continued membership will insure HCRA will always be around to
help new amateurs and seasoned veterans alike. Be sure to get your renewal
in before the October meeting and you may win an HCRA jacket and hat for
your promptness.
See you Friday evening!
'73.
