In the last two issues both the HCRA Board of Directors minutes and the
Treasurers report have been missing. Has anybody noticed or
DOES ANYBODY CARE?
In an organization with a "Board of Directors" government it is
customary to publish the minutes of the Board of Directors meetings.
These minutes can be published in many ways, however from the very first
meeting in 1946 the HCRA means of publishing was done by inclusion in
the clubs monthly newsletter. In fact this was the original purpose of
the monthly newsletter. The current Board of Directors has seen fit to
stop this custom. A board of directors that is prowd of their actions
would also be proud to have these action published to the general
membership. This can only mean one thing, the current board of directors
is involved in actions they prefer to keep from the general membership.
According to the current Club By-Laws this is not illegal.
but the general membership should question why this is required.
The only recourse the general membership has, is the election that will
be held in June of 2009. It is entirely possible the the general
membership may wake up in June to find that the HCRA treasury of about
$5,000.00 is missing! Keep that in mind.
One other small detail. Coming soon, in Nov is the annual HCRA Auction.
This auction is the major fund raising activity of the year. This will
give the current board of directors additional funds to steal from the
general membership.
