Yes, some good, some not so good,
It was a great morning to get out for a walk a little and the park is really a great spot. That was the good.
The not so good was just as I thought I was getting close, the cord to my external battery pack broke. With a very weak internal battery I couldn't transmit. I was able to take a couple more bearings, as Larry and Jake were in the area and I could still receive the Fox when they triggered it! But then the internal battery gave out. I had a noontime engagement, so there was no time for equipment repairs and my hunt was over. I did learn a couple of things for next time.
Jim, I hope you had tested the Fox for low-temp operation - no reason to stop just because of a little snow! Are you going to tell us were the little critter was hiding?
Thanks and 73,
George, KC1V

Well some good, some not so good----
We had great hunters which included Larry and Jake, Jim, George, and Ed. Everyone seemed to have a good time. However, I went to a wedding for a ham friend in CT on Saturday and forgot to charge the batteries before I left and did it when I got home at 9pm. I know better, it wasn't enough and it did give out before I returned at 5pm... When I am not sure but I do apologize if anyone came and could not energize the fox. Let me know who you are and the next one will be in your back yard.
The new harness held up well, and everything else was fine. I will try to do one more before the first snow flies.
