[HCRA] June Happenings at HCRA

Hello gang!

June is here and there is so much happening at HCRA this month I afraid I
won't be able to 'briefly' get it all in this message!

First is the Tail Gate party this coming Friday evening. Once again the
weather gods have favored us with a perfect forecast for the evening. You
still have time to get some goods ready for sale or stuff a few extra
pennies in your pocket to purchase that 'something you always needed'! Save
some precious gas money and support a local event at the same time.

Admission is free for buyers and only $5 for sellers. Setup at 5:30 PM in
the church parking lot. We will also have on hand coffee, soft drinks and
donuts.

A special raffle prize for this evening, a Yaesu VX170 two meter HT. This 5
watt handi-talkie can be yours for as little as a $1 donation.

Don't miss out and bring a friend - it isn't necessary to be an HCRA member
to have fun tonight.

Annual elections will be held at the June 6th meeting. Now is your chance to
not only vote but maybe even join the fun and become a board member at HCRA.
We presently are still looking for a program director but would welcome
nominations to any of the other positions as well. You can see the proposed

Field Day !!!

Only three weeks to go until Field Day, the HCRA way. The players are in
place, the menu is confirmed and propagation (sunspots) are on the rise. A
final Field Day meeting will be held after the elections this Friday
evening. Please think about how you would like to participate in the fun
this year. Have questions? Friday's meeting will be a perfect place to get
answers. Take a look at: http://www.hcra.org/fd2006.htm and see where the
planning stands.

And a special Field Day raffle. 

Fifty tickets will be sold for a Yaesu FT1802 two meter mobile rig. These $5
tickets will go on sale at the June meeting and the drawing will be held at
Field Day. So yes, you could win a radio valued at over $120 for a $5
investment. Sure is a lot better return then you'll get at the bank these
days!

A special event station at the Radio Museum in Windsor, CT in September.
The ARRL Convention and flea market in Boxboro, MA in August.
