IRLP node 7270's computer suffered a hard disk failure during the week of July 7th. Though the disks were mirrored, the operating system (O/S) portion of the mirror was corrupted, seemingly when the crash occurred. In order to preserve the existing data (old ZB's, Crew 510 pictures), I have to re-install the O/S on a new disk, and then hopefully recover the old data from the existing mirror.
I have ordered a new replacement disk to closely match the existing setup. This should be in the mail today or tomorrow. Once I re-install the O/S, the IRLP information should be available immediately to restart the node. If IRLP information is not retrievable, then there will be a wait until the IRLP configuration gurus can reprogram the node (from remote). Until then, the IRLP will be down. I am sorry for any inconvenience.
The IRLP node has run almost 24x7 since May of 2002, with few interruptions along the way. IRLP Node 7270 in South Hadley, Massachusetts, is sponsored by the Hampden County Radio Association for open use by all local hams - members and non-members alike. See http://www.hcra.org/irlp.htm for details on node 7270. See http://www.irlp.net for details on the Internet Radio Linking Project (IRLP).
