[HCRA] KB1JVF - SK - Jim Harrington

To say the news of Jim's death came as a shock today would be an
understatement. It once more brings us to remembering to live our lives to
the fullest extent we can because you never know when you won't have the
chance to do some of those things you've been 'waiting for a better time'.
 
I remember Jim from the first time he was licensed and have to say he really
latched onto this hobby and make the best of it. From a new licensee to the
president of HCRA in just a few short years Jim dove right in. The members
of HCRA and all the hams in the area owe Jim a lot for his efforts. He put
together a stellar information booth that has been used in many places,
honchoed a some very successful Field Days, organized special event
stations, helped out with EmComm activates, aided at VE sessions and was a
friend to all. To say he will be missed doesn't even come close to the void
that just opened up in our ham community.
 
Coming so close to the holidays our hearts go out to Jim's wife Kathy and
his family.
 
As more information becomes available about services we will keep you
informed.
