Tally Ho! Off to the foxhunt we shall go. This one is designed as a newcomer's course to see how much fun it can be.... and can be completed before the meeting. Do we have your interest??? (say yeah!!)

The fox is a baby and will transmits a tone for 20 seconds, then listen for 20 seconds to be sure no one is stalking him, then transmits again. The battery won't give up until the meeting is about to begin, then it will show respect by being very quiet....

Here is a list of the sophisticated equipment that you will need:

handheld
rubber duck antenna
paper clip or resistor (I'll have spares of both)
map (I'll provide)

We will be using the principle of body fade for location which is simply using your body to find the "null" or weakest direction of the signal, turn around, and go forward. Then you can try triangulation which is even easier!

If there is enough interest, then we (the club) will build a real fox and schedule real foxhunts so that you can build on your skills, and learn about the different tools used in foxhunting. The is an inexpensive facet of our hobby.

There is a lot of information on the Internet and in the manuals so have a gander and "come on down" between 6:30 and 7:15 Friday night just before the meeting and have a go at it. Something else to do whilest having coffee. Tally HOOoooo....!

Also, don't forget to check out our club's website for what's happening! 73's
