Hey gang,
The May copy of Zero Beat is now posted on the web. If you would like to
view or download a copy simply point your browser to:
http://www.hcra.org/zerobeat/may08.pdf and get your very own.
This month read about our upcoming meeting, local events, antenna
constructions and more.
Just a reminder about our guest speaker this month. Jose, N1BAA will be
on hand to demonstrate a fantastic (and free) logging program called
DXlab. This is a great program for general logging, DXing, rig control,
digital (PSK31 and more) and even CW. Why not take a look at:
http://www.dxlabsuite.com/ and see what it is all about, download a copy
and come to the meeting with some questions for N1BAA. This program is
the work of many years by Dave, AA6YQ, and is a good example of how good
free software can really be!
Also this weekend (after the HCRA meeting of course) are a couple of
premier New England events. First up is NEARfest, the largest ham radio
fleamarket in the NE. Formerly called Hosstraders Nearfest is now back
at its old location in Deerfield, NH. This is the place to go for good
deals on everything ham radio and to meet a great bunch of hams at the
same time. More info at: http://www.near-fest.com/. Happy bargain hunting.
But wait, there's more!
The eighth annual running of the New England QSO party starts at 4:00 PM
Saturday afternoon. Be at the receiving end of people calling you as
stations from around the US try to work all New England counties. A
relaxed contest it is a great way to experience another facet of ham
radio, learn about HF operation and meet some new friends. Rules and
lots more at: http://neqp.org/.
My apologies of the links don't work in this message. The hotels and
email programs are fighting me tonight.
I'm writing this from a hotel room in North Carolina but I hope to be
back Friday in time for the meeting. Save me a seat.
