Hey gang!

I heard LOTS of HCRA members on 10 meters over the weekend. It was nice to
see so much activity, even without the sun's cooperation. Especially nice
was working Pat, KB1OAP/T for a great CW contact.

Mow that the contest is over it is time to do the paperwork. This is one of
those contests that allows for individual participation as well as club
competition. You can submit your log to ARRL (either electronically or
paper) as well as have those points count toward HCRA. Just remember to put
'Hampden County Radio Assn' in the club field of the log. It is important to
spell it exactly as noted here or the contest robot will reject it.

After you send in your log it would be nice if you could take the time to
email me your score and any 'soapbox' comments for the HCRA web page. That
way we can all share in the fun you had over the weekend as well as get an
idea of the aggregate score for HCRA.

In closing it is so nice to see some of our newest operators taking a stab
at a contest. It is always the first step that is the hardest, it is all
downhill from here! Unfortunately the sun did not cooperate and give us much
DX this year but wait until 2008!

You can see the latest postings at: http://www.hcra.org/arrl_10m_2007.htm.
Lets keep those cards and letters coming.

Happy Holidays to all, see you next year at the meeting. Remember our guest
speaker in January is Donna Halper. Ms. Halper will be returning to HCRA to
talk about the history of AM broadcasting in the Springfield area. Always a
dynamic speaker and extremely knowledgeable on all things radio this will be
a fantastic meeting.
