Boy, <sarcasm> that sure sounds a lot easier than turning on an HF radio and
communicating. Sounds a lot cheaper, too </sarcasm>.

The article mentions at one point: "...we'd like to realize a new wide-band
digital network, to connect all Italian ham radio users to each other and to
other services..."

Well, we do have a network that connects all Italian ham radio users to each
other and to other services...in fact, it connects all ham radio users
around the world to each other. Its called HF, and may not quite be
wide-band, but I'm sure can bridge the gap between Sardinia and mainland
Italy. God knows it bridges the gap between Italy and W1 all too often.

It seems to me that a good deal was lost in translation or misunderstanding
between CISAR and Ubiquiti.
