MASSACHUSETTS (AP) - Governor Patrick declared Friday as a day of mourning for the victims of the Virginia Tech shootings.

Patrick urges Massachusetts residents to observe a minute of silence at noon as bells in churches and public institutions will be rung. Patrick said what happened in Virginia was an unspeakable tragedy. 

A 20-year-old college student from Saugus was among those killed.
