           Status of the W1MBT/R Repeater
(446.775 MHz, - offset, PL77, repeater IDs as W1MBT/R
PL77)


Progress for this week:

A.  Transmitter power increased to 40 watts.

B.  Installed the Motorola duplexer in place of the
mobile duplexer

C.  Mounted hardware in and on the rack.  I need a
deeper unit to hold 
all the equipment.

Present coverage:

To the South and West, the coverage is ok (considering
the antenna).  I 
can bring the machine up from Suffield and through
Southwick.  To the 
North and Northeast, coverage is limited. The terrain
goes up from my 
house to the north.  So coverage to Holyoke area
really suffers.  Even 
after I get the antenna to its final 35 ft height
(twice as high as now), 
I think coverage to the North will be difficult. 
Thats life.


Items to be added in the near future:

1.  Lightning protection, better coax line, and
Antenna to final height 
at the house. This will not happen until early July,
unfortunately.



Items to be added in 6 to 9 months:

1.  IRLP
2.  Possibly a power amp.  20 watts to the antenna in
my height 
challenged
spot is not going to work well for any distances over
10 to 15 miles.
3.  Deeper cabinet to hold all the equipment


For now, I've completed what I can.  The antenna final
mounting will 
have to wait for a few weeks.
Up for the forseeable future, except for periods of
thunderstorm 
activity.

are near Westfield, especially from the south or west
directions...
