Well folks had a great time in Harpers Ferry, WV operating K4HTA/8. Its nice
to op from a rare state and even better to do it with no powerline noise.
Now we just need to get a real beam up so we can work harder at the upper HF
bands.
Overall the swag, if I recall from 1am last night, was roughly 51,000
points. Most of those on 80 and 160. We had a TenTec Orion and an Icom 746
Pro II for rigs and 2 Carolina Windoms, 1 for 80 and 1 for 160. The 160m was
east/west and on the side of a rather signifcant precipise. I think it would
have been about 20 to 40 feet over the sloping ground (mostly in a cemetary
at that!) The cliff drops probably 300+ feet at the least down into the
Shenandoah River (its either that or the Potomac as the confluence of the
two is at Harpers Ferry.
Best DX = France on 75
Best Domestic DX Alaska on 20 and Texas/Kansas/Missouri/Minnesota on 160m
Probably about 20 ops/loggers floating around at various points.
Here are some pictures below for you to enjoy. Have fun and it was nice
working NE1C on at least 40 and 80.
