[HCRA] Re: New York Times article on Morse Code

That's a well-written story with good graphics and some names that are familiar to me. It gave me pause to read:
   
  "...and the Coast Guard stopped listening for Morse S O S signals at sea during the 1990s." 
   
  That reminded me of situations in years past of people whose lives had been saved because they'd been able to transmit an SOS -- in at least one instance by tapping together a pair of wires in the absence of a key. 
   
  Morse code won't die until everyone lets it die.
