[HCRA] Meeting this Friday, September 9th.

Hi gang,

Well, was the summer short but hot enough for you? Now's the time to cool of
a the first HCRA meeting our new season. Special guest speaker Dan
Henderson, N1ND, the ARRL Contest Branch Manager will be on hand to talk
about ham radio communications in the aftermath of Katrina.

Also this Friday evening will be our usual raffle (with an unusual prize, a
Yaesu VX2R dual band HT), Tech Corner, coffee & donuts and the fun of
talking with your friends.

Everyone should have received their new Zero Beat by now - be sure to thank
our new editor, Eric, KB1JVI for a nice job with his first publication when
you see him. Complete, nice articles and done on time - kewl!

Remember, September is renewal month. Bound in your Zero Beat is an HCRA
application. Please fill it out and bring it with you to Friday's meeting so
we can get you signed up for a new season. And everyone that signs up by the
end of October's meeting will be entered into a drawing for an Icom HT -
your gift from HCRA for signing up early!

There is lots of stuff happening, both here and around the world. New
equipment, different propagation, upcoming contests, the November auction -
this promises to be a fun year for HCRA and ham radio.
