Hi everyone,

The amount of toys collected at the auction was good but before I drag them
all down to the ARRL (or ship them out to the Salvation Army) why don't we
take one more pass at collecting at the Holiday Party? That would seem like
a good way to kick off the holiday season, give something that will really
make a difference to some little girl or boy.

Not sure what I'm referring to? It's the ARRL/Salvation Army Toy Drive 2005.
The Salvation Army, with help from the ARRL and generous hams everywhere, is
collecting toys for children displaced from the Gulf hurricanes earlier this
year. Read all about it at:
http://www.arrl.org/news/stories/2005/11/15/4/?nc=1 on the ARRL web site.
You can join forces with hams across the country to really make a difference
this holiday season.

This is where you, the HCRA ham, comes in. When you attend the HCRA Holiday
Party on December 2nd why not bring an unwrapped toy too? We will add them
to the collection and get them to the Salvation Army in time for gift giving
this season. Any toy suitable for girls or boys between 1 and 14 years old
is acceptable. Don't forget to attach your QSL card or suitable holiday
greeting to your gift. The club makes it easier too, all you have to do is
bring it along, we will do the rest.

It's less than two weeks to the party. Are you planning on bringing along
your special treat? If so, please let John, Kx1x know what you will be
bringing. You can contact him at: mailto:kx1x at arrl.net. This year's party
should be great, with a fine selection of food, a great raffle prize, door
prizes, KB1FTX's Eagle award and the company of your fellow hams and
friends. More details as always on the web at: www.hcra.org

See you there..

Jim, KK1W
