Hey everyone,

The June issue of Zero Beat is now on the web at
http://www.hcra.org/zerobeat/jun05.pdf. It's a twelve page issue chock full
of stuff that's just around the bend in June. If you can't wait for your
USPS copy then click the link above for immediate gratification.

This issue marks the final issue edited by John, Kx1x. After five years of
excellent work John has decided to hand the printing press over to Eric,
KB1JVI. But have no fear, John isn't leaving, just trying something
different. Starting next year Kx1x will be HCRA's program director.

Five years is at least 50 issues of Zero Beat. Meeting tight schedules,
going to the printers, writing and sticking labels - John has certainly
earned a break from editing. Please take a moment to thank him for the last
five years of hard work. The quality of the publication has gone a long way
in aiding the growth of HCRA over his term.

>From all the board members at HCRA - a big THANK YOU!

This Friday is the Tailgate party. I hope you are getting your stuff
together for a fun evening. Even the weather is supposed to be good!
Remember, buyers are free so bring a friend and have some fun.

Also this Friday is the annual elections. A proposed slate is in Zero Beat.
But that is not cast in stone and your name could be on the list! Want to
help guide HCRA into the future? We have a place for you. Contact any board
member and we will be happy to get your name on the slate also.

Field Day is less than 30 days away. There have been many changes over the
last few weeks but never fear - it will be as much fun as ever! Take a look
at http://www.hcra.org/fd2005.htm and see what is planned. We have room for
everyone so if you would like to participate??? I see quite a few new hams
in the club this year, please don't hesitate to come out to the park and
have fun this June. We will be on hand to help you with anything you would
like to do. Field Day is what it's all about. Emergency communication, the
great outdoors, operating, building stations, eating, making contacts,
talking to other hams, eating... Are you excited yet?

Have you labeled the tailgate stuff yet???

See you Friday,

Jim, KK1W
