Hi everyone,
As I type this Field Day 2005 is just hours away. Over two dozen people
helped erect towers, shoot lines in the trees for wire antennas, assemble
beams, place campers... You get the picture.
At the end of the day Friday we are well ahead of where we need to be for
Field Day. Saturday morning will bring the finishing touches on all the
stations with everyone ready to operate by the 2:00 PM deadline.
The weather promises to be hot but dry and propagation seems to be a little
better than predicted. Andy has all his food in place and is ready to feed
the hungry hoards.
All we need now is your participation to make it into another super HCRA
Field Day. Eric and Luke have the GOTA station ready to Get on the Air! The
perfect place for new or inexperienced hams to stop by, sit down and have
fun.
We've got it all again this year. CW, phone (voice), digital, GOTA, UHF/VHF,
solar, satellite - what more could you ask for? Stop by and help HCRA show
the public how amateur radio truly can be the 'go to' mode of communication
if disaster should ever strike.
This will be the last FD message you'll see until after the event is over
Sunday afternoon. Let me take this opportunity to thank everyone in advance
for whatever type of participation you have been able to give for Field Day
2005. Your interest in HCRA and ham radio helps make our hobby what it is
today.
Have fun, hopefully I'll see all of you over the weekend and enjoy your
summer.
'73...
Jim, KK1W
