Hey gang,

Here's the Field Day update. All the parts are falling into place, all we
need is good weather and propagation to make this year another winner for
HCRA.

The park is rented. Stations and band captains are committed, including
Dennis, N1WCW for VHF and Eric & Luke for the GOTA station and Steve, N1NPC
for digital. Andy is working up his usual sumptuous menu and there will be
food enough for all. The opportunity for anyone and everyone to try their
hand at operating CW, SSB or digital is there for everyone to sample.

We will be having our usual pre-FD meeting at Dufresne Park at 5:00 PM on
Wednesday the 22nd. All are welcome to attend. Wednesday will finalize our
station and antenna placement and is a good chance to review both weather
and propagation forecasts for the weekend.

Set-up starts Friday, June 24th at 2:00 PM as usual. Bring your energy and
your appetite. Friday will be a chance to learn about erecting towers and
antennas, installing rigs and computers - anything you would need to know to
prepare a station for emergency operation.

Set-up continues until 2:00 PM on Saturday when the fun begins. All
throughout will be the culinary creations of Andy, KB1FVL.

Don't forget to bring a friend, new ham, anyone interested in radio. Because
we are operating under the club call even unlicensed individuals will be
able to 'get on the air' under the guidance of a control operator.

Dufresne Park is a great place for the whole family. Hiking trails, fish
ponds, swing sets, something for everyone. And of course you can simply sit
under the pavilion, have a snack and shoot the breeze.

See you there, let's have fun.

Jim, KK1W
