Hi Everyone...!
Here I am again looking for volunteers for the 7 Sisters Regatta, Saturday, October 30th. I will need 5 people for this one, and here's hoping for no hurricanes, no snow, no ice, and perhaps an Indian Summer Day (wishful thinking?)! Obviously, it's going to be cold, especially out on the river, so anyone going out on a boat should dress accordingly. However, it won't be a long day. We'll need to be at Brunelle's Marina by about 8 a.m. and the whole thing should be over by around 11 a.m. Those volunteers going out on a boat should probably spend around 2 hours on the river at the most. It is a head race, meaning boats leave the start line one at a time and the best time over the course determines the winners. After the races, we'll go to the Dockside restaurant for lunch, and to warm up. I am having a lot of trouble rounding up volunteers this year, so I am hoping that my steady, loyal group will help us out. Jeanne is counting on us being there. Here's what she says she needs:
time frame it 8:15- 11:00. we would need 5 or so folks-
start/finish/timers/safety/dock area....
The start person, finish person, and safety person will probably be on the river, I'm guessing. The rest will be on shore. There is a possibility that the finish person might also be on shore, depending on how the setup will be.
So there you have it. Please let me know ASAP if you can make it, and also let me know if you have anyone else who might like to help out as I'm getting a bit desperate! Thanks to all of you for having been so helpful with past regattas, and I look forward to working with you all once again.
