Well, you've waited long enough. The April issue of Zerobeat is now on the
web. If you're not one of the lucky ones that gets yours via email you can
now view or download your own copy at:
http://www.hcra.org/zerobeat/apr04.pdf
Another interesting issue - complete with a breaking news story about one of
our members accomplishments. I'm not going to tell you any more, you'll have
to read it to find out who and why!
The April meeting is this Friday. A special presentation by one of our
members on APRS. Gary, AA1UE will be showing all of us the how's and whys of
APRS. Learn about this interesting mode and then see how easy it is to do
yourself.
Remember, May 1st & 2nd is the New England QSO Party. Wouldn't you like to
win the HCRA Plaque for high score Hampden County. You can't win if you
don't play!
I just got back from another fun time at Dave's, K1TTT's contest super
station. Dave graciously made his station available for Venture Crew DX to
participate in the CQ WPX contest again this year. A half dozen or so Crew
DX members finished up Sunday evening with over 6.4M points - even better
than last year! Look for the full story in next month's Zero Beat. Special
thanks to Dave for helping out with the contest and most of all for being
such a good coach - teaching us all how to be better operators.
Starting next month in Zero Beat will be a monthly column by our resident DX
hound Mike, KB1FWN. Mike will be attempting to keep us aware of what's
happening out there in the DX world. If you have any suggestions or content
for his column please contact him at mailto:[email protected]
This month's raffle prize is a MAHA charger & batteries. Expect the usual;
good company and conversation, coffee & donuts and a of course - a great
time.
'73 and see you Friday,
Jim, KK1W
