I know everyone is anxious to know the final score from Field Day. I have
combined all the station logs and have been through most of the bonus point
claimed. So here is the rough, 'unofficial' score...
Ta Da....
Final Score = 9910!
We easily exceeded our goal of 9100 points.
Many thanks to everyone who contributed to our Field Day this year. Everyone
did a fine job with every aspect of our operation. Operators, loggers,
set-up/takedown crew, satellite, visitors, photographers and most of all the
cooks. Everyone seemed to have a fantastic time, ate well and left happy!
What more could we ask for?
My apologies to the group. After the 'good' CW operator left the 40M CW
station (N1RL) if the next guy spent a little more time on the key instead
of 'chit-chatting' we would have accomplished two things. Broken 10K points
and kicked the 20M SSB stations butt. Oh well, there's always next year (but
we did beat the 20M station on points).
I will setup the scores on the web page over the weekend so you can see what
each band accomplished. I would also like to put some 'soapbox' comments on
the web so please send me your comments to me.
And while you're commenting, why not take a minute to drop a line to the
hcra-fd group or directly to Marty or Peter. Let us know what went right,
what didn't meet expectations and most of all what you think we should do
next year. Your comments will help us keep from repeating past mistakes.
That way we can make some entirely new ones!
Enjoy your summer. Don't forget about the ARRL New England Convention in
Boxboro August 14th and 15th. Read all about it at:
http://www.boxboro.org/2004/index.html.
As the song says: "See you in September".
