The HCRA field day is over. Once again there was lots of participation and fun for all. It was a great time to spend time with old friends, meet new people and have fun. The following deserve some thanks of their own:
a.. Marty - w1mjb and Peter - ki1i - Thanks for a fabulous job organizing the whole event. Should we expect the same next year!
b.. To the JOTA station planner and operators - Thanks for proving that is a great idea to get people on the air and perk their interests more!
c.. Steve - n1sr - Thanks for the antennas that performed great and knowing where to place them for the least inter-station interference
d.. Dave - aa1yw and John - kb1ftx - Thanks for the towers, generators and your continues hard work that we all appreciate year after year!
e.. Andy & Eric Jensen - What can I say? Better food than last year. Thank you for all the time preparing, delivering, serving. It was delicious!
f.. The Friday and Saturday morning set up crew - it was great knowing that (as an operator) I just had to worry about my shelter and station - Thank you!
g.. All the operators - I met some people I never did before and made some new friends - Thanks for coming out and joining the fun!
h.. Thanks to franfy - n1fj for helping me keep 20cw going. We kept the radio active for around 19 hours. I couldn't have done it without you!
i.. To all the visitors and guest operators. It was a pleasure seeing someone take the key or mic and give us regular ops a chance for a breath of fresh air. Thanks for stopping by. We're glad you came out!
j.. To everyone for making it an enjoyable weekend. Everyone helped everyone else out and it was appreciated all around. Thank you!
k.. To those that didn't stop by and visit us - you missed a very enjoyable time.
l.. My wife Faye says thanks to all the women that visited and socialized with her.
m.. The HCRA field day mascot (Fuzzy the mini poodle) had a great time too. This was his 5th field day and he enjoyed seeing everyone too (as well as the table scraps). He came home exausted.
n.. Lastly to those poor, defenseless frogs in the pond - next year we'll warn you when Jacob, Jimmy and Cameron are coming. I'm sure the science project of dissecting them was not pleasant and I'm glad the kids kept it over there and didn't bring their project into the pavillion with them!
o.. Thanks to anyone I missed that made the weekend another great HCRA Field Day! They keep improving year by year.
Everyone have a safe, enjoyable summer and we'll see you in the fall.
73's,
Larry - WB1DBY & family
