Hi everyone,

Field Day 2004, the HCRA way is just around the corner. In less than ten
days many of your fellow HCRA members, plus other area hams and interested
general public, will be exhibiting to our community how amateur radio
operators can be counted on for emergency communications.

If you have not yet committed to join us, there is still time. Many of the
details are on the web at: http://www.hcra.org/fd_2004.htm. This is a
'signature' event for HCRA and it really shows. We have placed in the top 10
in the country for our class over the last few years!

I'm excited to tell you the FD committee, Marty and Peter, have really
cranked up the event this year. It's shaping up to be one of the best
attended in many years and will benefit even more with your participation.
What can you expect?

Great food, a GOTA station, a chance to operate with top tier rigs and
antennas, great food, a beautiful park with playgrounds, ponds and hiking
trails, good company, great food (did I say that already) and most of all
--- a FUN TIME!

So please, even if you're not sure what you want to do, come on down. Even
if it's only to shoot the bull, have a burger and take a few pictures. Your
presence will always be appreciated.

If I still haven't convinced you, could I ask a favor? Even if you're not
coming spend a few minutes doing a good weather dance for the rest of us! Or
get on the air and work the FD station. We will be operating under the call
of W1NY (NE1C for the GOTA station). See, you can even stay home and still
participate!

'73... and see you at Dufresne Park on June 25th to 27th.

As always - thanks for your enthusiasm and participation. HCRA members are
making a difference in amateur radio in the Pioneer Valley!

Jim, KK1W
