Hi everyone,

John has finished up this month's Zero Beat and it's yet another fine issue.
Yours should be arriving by mail by Friday or if you have it delivered
electronically you've already got it. Can't wait for the USPS? Then click
on: http://www.hcra.org/zerobeat/jun04.pdf and get it right now!

Be sure to review the slate of officers for next year. There's still time to
get YOUR name on the list if you would like to help out over the coming
year. Drop a note to any board member and we would be happy to fit you into
the list.

Also this month is a great article about a few local ham's trip to Dayton -
the hamfest of all hamfest. Interesting reading whether or not you have ever
been there.

Going on sale this month are the tickets for the grand raffle prize at the
November auction. We picked a really great prize, an Icom IC-703. This neat
little HF QRP rig operates all bands, uses little power on receive and
includes and antenna tuner. Tickets are $1 each, 6/$5 and will be on sale
starting with the Tail Gate Party.

The Tail Gate party is this Friday. Bring your stuff down for quick sale,
spots are only $5 each. Admission is free for buyers so bring a friend. John
Bee of Quicksilver products will be on hand too with a wide variety of
antennas and power connection items: See a sample of his wares at:
http://www.qsradio.com Music by Jx2 productions, coffee & donuts and the
months raffle round out the event. We have a few FD 2004 T shirts being
raffled off this month too, as well as some FD 2004 pins for sale.

And of course Field Day. It's less than a month away and planning is going
well. After the elections we can discuss what portion of this premier event
you would like to participate in this year.

'73.. for now and see you Friday evening,

Jim, KK1W
