OK Gang, it's going to be freezing cold this Sunday. The perfect time to
start our Field Day planning. Wouldn't you rather think about the warm
weather of FD rather than a freezing cold and windy Sunday? I thought =
so.
I'm happy to announce that both Marty, W1MJB and Peter, KI1I have =
selflessly
volunteered to co-chair HCRA Field Day this year. With their able =
guidance
and the participation of all our members I'm expecting a great FD again =
this
year. Looking to operate HF/VHF/UHF or satellite? SSB, PSK31 or CW? See
demos of new modes? Have some great food prepared again this year by =
Andy?
Then FD 2004 - the HCRA way is for you.
The HCRA web page already has started this year's signup list. Please =
visit
http://www.hcra.org/fd_2004.htm and see what's spoken for already. Want =
to
participate? Simply drop a note to any board member and we will get you =
on
the list. This year I would expect propagation at the higher frequencies
might not be great so expect more concentration on the lower bands (80 =
and
40 meters) than last year. Also, I wonder if the Venture Crew might want =
to
set up and run a GOTA station this year? I think that would really be =
fun.
If I've made a few mistakes on the listing so far please let me know so =
I
can correct them. Less than six months to go before another fun time - I
can't wait.
On a different subject, don't forget the next meeting is our annual Show =
&
Tell event. You could win a $50 gift certificate to HRO by simply =
showing
off your latest project and telling our members about it. See all the
details in last month's Zero Beat. So get to work on those projects and =
we
will all be looking forward to seeing them on March 5th.
'73 for now,
