James R. Allen Jr.
1955 - 2004

CHICOPEE - James "Jimmie" R. Allen, Jr., 48, died Thursday April 8th at
home. Born in Springfield on June 22. 1955, the son of Lois (Luppi) and =
the
late James R. Allen. A lifelong resident of Chicopee, Jimmie attended
Chicopee schools, graduating from Chicopee Comprehensive High School and
received his masters degree from American International College, and was
employed at United Plumbing Supply, both in Springfield. Jimmie was a =
member
of the Mt. Tom Amateur Repeater Association and an instructor for the
Hampden County Radio Association. He was best known for his call sign =
WB1Z.
Jimmie is survived by his wife of 18 years, Susan (LaCourse) Allen, his
mother, Lois Allen of Granby; a stepson, Glen F. Roberts and his wife =
Susan
of Tampa, FL; a stepdaughter, Jill A. King and her husband David of =
Bellows
Falls, VT; a brother, Glenn Allen of Chicopee; and a sister, Mary
Allen-Majerowski of Granby. His granddaughter, Nina King and several =
nieces
and a nephew also survive Jimmie. A funeral home service will be held on
Monday evening April 12th at 6 p.m. at the Tylunas Funeral Home, 159
Broadway, Chicopee. Visiting hours will precede the service from 2-6 =
p.m.
Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family. Memorial
contributions may be made in Jimmie's memory to the Thomas J. O'Connor
Animal Shelter, 627 Cottage St, Springfield, MA 01104.=20
