Well folks, the day of the auction is just around the corner. In case you
forgot - it's this coming Friday, November 7th. Setup for the auction starts
at 6:30, followed by a brief (very brief!) club meeting and then the
auction. Admission is free, members and non-members alike, so bring along a
friend or a neighbor. If you want to sell something simply label it with
your name, call (if you have one) and a minimum price (if you want to) and
we will do our darndest to put some money in your pocket. Ten percent of the
proceeds (up to $100 selling price) go to HCRA and the rest goes to you.
Don't wait any longer to get your stuff ready for the auction, it's less
than a week away.
Just planning on buying, this is the place to be. There have been many great
items selling at bargain basement prices in years past. The HCRA auction is
the perfect place to outfit your shack with accessories, pick up a second HT
or HF radio and get some great test equipment for the shop. All you need is
money (and we will also accept personal checks with proper identification.
As always, some of the best deals come from donations made to HCRA. These
donations are tax deductible too! Here's a quick peek at a few I know will
be there you might want to bid on:
Yaseu HT with accessories
MFJ 901 Tuner
144 and 220 beam antennas
Austin 2M antenna
Sony Cassette Stereo
RCA TV
Panasonic 20" TV
RS Digital Answering Machine
Radio Shack 3A power supply
Heathkit HT amplifier
Multimeter
4.25" reflecting telescope (help with moon bounce?)
And that's just some of the stuff I know of, I'm sure there will be more.
Don't forget about the giant raffle prize. This year it is the popular Yaesu
FT8900 quad band FM rig. Selling for almost $400 it can be yours for as
little as a $1 ticket (book of 6 for $5). Tickets are going fast, be sure to
get yours first thing Friday before they are all gone.
As always, coffee, soda and donuts will also be available.
One final note. Please box many small items together to speed up the auction
process. The auctioneers reserve the right to combine items to expedite the
process. Limit your items to amateur radio, electronic or computer related
items please. If it doesn't sell YOU bring it back home.
See you Friday, as always it will be fun!!!
