Larry, N1URE will be hiking through part of the AT this January and is
looking for some radio backup. Please read his message below and get in
touch with him if you can help out. It sounds like an interesting hike and
I'm sure both Larry and his family would rest easier if some of us could
help keep tabs on him.

Hi!
During the last half of January, I am planning a winter trip for a week.
The trip will be a hike of the northern Massachusetts segment of the AMT.
The end point is Mt. Greylock summit for two days.  As this is a solo
(Grizzly Adams type) trip I am bringing an HT for safety.

It would be super if some of the scouts could act as check in contacts for
me.  The 91 repeater on Greylock would be the machine to use.  Darkness
falls early so after tent setup and dinner I figure a call to say all is
well and report the events of the day would be good.  We can set a time that
works for everyone.  A relay to my home phone, reverse the charges will be
appreciated.
