Congratulations to all of the members of the recently completed class
for the Technician class amateur radio license. I am very proud of
everybody for a job well done. This includes both students and
instructors.
I hope that the new licensees enjoy the hobby as much as I have over the
years. I look forward to hearing all of the new hams on the air soon.
Hopefully I will see many of you at the HCRA meetings.
For the instructors, please let me know what you thought of the format.
I am already looking forward to next year's class organization. What
were some of the things you felt went right or could have been done
better. Was eight weeks too long or short? Would you participate
again? Let me know what you think.
People have been approaching me about what else we can do to encourage
the furtherance of the hobby for those of us already licensed. I am
wondering how many might benefit from instruction on passing the 5 word
per minute code test. If there is enough interest, perhaps I can put
something together to help those along who are interested. Since code
is a major obstacle to getting the General class license, perhaps
starting there would be the best place to start. Email me your opinions.
