[HCRA] tech corner

Hi Gang,

I am told that there used to be a tech corner that was part of the HCRA. =
 Can anybody describe to me what this was like?  I would like to get a =
flavor of what this was like and if there is renewed interest in it then =
maybe we could possibly bring it back?? =20

I am also open to suggestions about future offerings along this line.  =
For example, I enjoy working with the Linux operating system.  Maybe =
there are some others in the club that would enjoy articles about this.  =
I noticed an article in QST in the October issue titled "Linux and =
Software Radio:  On the Horizon".  Some in the club may be interested in =
hearing more about Linux.  There is a lot of ham radio specific software =
available for Linux.  For example:  IP over packet, among others.  I =
have a lot more free time this winter compared to last because of not =
being saddled with constantly visiting repeater sites and other =
responsibilities of my former position and maybe looking at Linux =
"gadgets" could be a good way of filling that void. =20

The HCRA is your club.  A club is nothing more than the makeup of its =
members.  Interesting "goings on" within the club generates more =
interest and more members.  The members stir up the curiosity of others =
by putting their collective interests together thereby making activities =
for people in the club to participate in (or read about).  The more =
activities that there are to participate in, makes the HCRA what it is =
and that is a great club to belong to as a member.

Send me your ideas, opinions, throw darts at me (use the ones with the =
suction cups), have some fun.
