OK, here's the scoop. If you don't make it to Friday's meeting you won't get
the chance to pick on me about the web page! That, and you'll also miss Tom
Frenaye (our esteemed guest speaker), Larry Buck (yet another guest
speaker), a great raffle prize (Yaesu FT1500, 50W 2 meter rig) and most of
all a chance to renew acquaintances you've missed all summer.
AND!!! If you renew before October 4th, your name will be entered into a
pool to win an Icom IC-Q7A, dual band HT - just for joining! We want you
back, and we want you to renew before October, so don't delay. Renewal
applications were inserted into this month's Zero Beat. If you didn't get
yours, or the dog ate your copy, Dave will have plenty at the meeting. Or,
you can download and print your very own from the web at:
http://www.hcra.org/zerobeat/HCRA_Application%20Form%202002.pdf
Still not convinced, how about a chance to win the exciting Yaseu FT-817,
compact, all band/mode transceiver for only $1? That's the grand prize for
the November auction. The HCRA is also soliciting donations for the auction,
so put aside some of that old stuff you're too embarrassed to put you name
on and donate it to your favorite radio club's auction. It's also tax
deductible.
There's lots happening at your club this year; WB1Z is lining up some great
guest speakers, lots of operating activity (Big-E, Basketball Hall of Fame,
contests, Field Day), Venture Crew DX is growing, the Holiday Party, Show &
Tell and the Tail Gate party - just to name a few. Speaking of the Venture
Crew, many of them are now General Class and one is now an Extra with a few
more knocking at the door! They've added a lot of vitality to the club, it's
our turn to Elmer them by taking the time to teach them about antennas,
operating, public service and all that other stuff we thought we forgot.
And yes, it is YOUR club. Because of your membership and participation the
HCRA has grown to be a large, active and forward thinking organization. Show
your support again this year by joining, attending and participating and
tell your friends to do the same. Our doors are always open to anyone with a
love for the hobby.
Thanks & '73...
See you Friday, September 6th,
Jim, KK1W
Oh yeah, about the web page. I think I fixed it. Let me know if you find any
problems.
