[HCRA] FD beginnings

Field Day 2002 is just around the corner. I've started updating the web page
with the volunteers for this year. Please drop by
http://www.hcra.org/field_day.htm and see if I've missed adding your name to
the list.

As you probably are aware, there is no "FD chairperson" this year. We've had
a few impromptu meetings so far and since most everyone is a repeat from
last years event there didn't seem to be much need for a chairperson. If you
would like to help out in any area just look at the list and contact the
person who seems most closely aligned with that area. i.e., see Larry about
station operation, Jim about software, etc. The good thing about not having
a chairperson is when something goes wrong there's no one to blame!

Seriously, we had a great FD last year and this one promises to be even
better. We've added additional towers & antennas, our operators are more
experienced and we are familiar with the location. It would be difficult for
even me to foul this up! As always, the event will only be as good as the
effort put forth by all the participants. With the usual great support of
all the HCRA members it will be difficult to fail. Sign up now, sign up
early, tell your friends, etc. Although this is a club function, as with all
HCRA functions you need not be a member to participate. This is always a
source of pride for HCRA; everyone is always welcome to join the fun (and
hopefully join the club)!
