Hi everyone,

First, the election results for the 2002/2003 season.

Congratulations to:

Irv, W6IS - Vice President
Jim, WB1Z - Program Director
Peter, KI1I - Technical Director

Both Jim and Peter are new to the HCRA board and will bring a lot of energy
and enthusiasm to the group. Irv has changed from Program director (where he
did and excellent job the last two years) and is looking forward to relaxing
in the VP's position :>)

Our thanks to our outgoing officers and directors:

Stan, N1INB - Thank you for all your efforts over the last two years, and
your constant promotion of the HCRA to everyone!
Larry, K1ILZ - Thanks for coming out of retirement(!), filling in the open
position and creating our equipment roster.

Be sure to attend the September meeting and say hello to your new officers
and directors.

Field Day

Field Day is only two weeks away. The planning is going well, but if we are
to make our goal of 10,000 points this year we will need everyone's help.
The location is Dufresne Park in Granby, MA and we would love to have you
stop by, if only for a few minutes to a few days! See all the information on
the web at: http://www/hcra/org/field_day.htm Our plans are still hovering
around either a 6A or 7A operation - 4 phone stations and 2 or 3 CW
stations. Computer networked logging, good food, nice facilities (pavilion,
real bathrooms (not port-a-potties) kids playground, fishing pond, hiking
trails --- there is something for everyone in the family. There will also be
demonstrations of ATV, SSTV, R/C model aircraft and of course lots of neat
ham radio things. Meet BSA Venture Crew DX and find out how youth and
amateur have combined in 2002! Please, mark you calendar and make an effort
to stop by, support your club and have a good time too!

Finally, the Tail Gate party. Thanks to everyone who brought stuff to sell
and to all the buyers who came over to see what was happening. It was fun,
but small. Hopefully we will build on our successes - it seemed everyone had
a great time. A special thanks to everyone who donated equipment for the
club table, it was greatly appreciated.

That's it for today - don't forget to give IRLP Node #727 a try. I have the
reflector on right now, listening to stations in Long Island & California
having a nice QSO. It's working well, give a listen and find out what it's
all about.

'73 for now, but watch out for almost daily Field Day announcements!!!
