Can't wait for your printed copy? The dog ate the one that was emailed. Not
to worry, simply go to: http://www.hcra.org/zerobeat/jan03.pdf and get your
January 2003 Zero Beat.
Thanks to John for getting this one out during the busy holiday season. It's
chock full of good stuff, don't miss it.
So....
Don't forget about the January 3rd meeting. Dan Henderson, N1ND, the ARRL
Contest Director will be there to tell us about the ARRL contesting efforts
and to take your questions about contesting. With the winter months upon us
what better time to spend in the shack playing with your radio? And as
usual raffle prizes, coffee & donuts and great company - don't miss the
first meeting of the new year.
HCRA's Technician classes are just around the corner. Do you know of anyone
that's been asking about classes? Get back to them now and get them signed
up for February's classes. Need more information, simply click on
http://www.hcra.org/Students/index.html for everything you would need to
know. We've only just begun and already have three students signed up. Space
will go quickly so get the word out now.
It looks like we will have plenty of students, but we need instructors too!
Have you ever thought about sharing your hard earned knowledge and
experience to help new folks enter the hobby? Here's your chance and we
won't even charge you for it! Why don't you check out
http://www.hcra.org/Instructors/Index.html and see what Pete's got in store
for you. Seriously, it's hard to describe the feeling you will get after
helping others enter into our great hobby. It really is a chance you won't
want to pass up.
Isn't it great how Peter, KI1I has taken the reins of organizing this class?
Just a look at the web pages and effort expended so far tells us why HCRA is
growing - it's people like Peter, yourself and the other active members that
make the difference. And the training class? In my opinion a successful
Technician class in 2003 will be the single biggest achievement for HCRA.
Everyone who contributes to this success is deserving of a special thanks
from all members of HCRA.
Finally, the March "Show & Tell" is getting closer. You don't want to be
soldering that last connection on March 6th do you? If not, now's the time
to start your 2003 project. You just might be the winner of a $50 gift
certificate with your creation, but you can't win if you don't play!
To all our members, have a Happy New Year and I look forward to seeing
everyone at the January 3rd meeting.
