Happy Holidays everyone!!

It was so nice seeing everyone at last nights Holiday Party. With over 50
people attending, good food, interesting speakers and a chance to say hi to
everyone before the season is in full swing was especially great. Special
thanks to Irv & Marylyn for ordering the food, procuring the raffle prizes,
setting up the hall and organizing the event. Another good example of why
the HCRA is growing - member participation and involvement!

Rob did a fine job discussing both past Skywarn events and announcing
training dates for 2003. Steve's presentation about how both he and ham
radio participated in the aftermath of 9/11 was especially enlightening.
Anyone who thought that ham radio was not needed any longer during civil
emergencies probably came away from with a different view!

The raffle prizes put smiles on quite a few faces and everyone left full and
happy (is that like fat, dumb and happy?) at the close of the evening. Watch
the web page for pictures as soon as we receive them.

Web Changes

I've added an updated 2002/2003 roster at
http://www.hcra.org/club_roster.htm. Please take a moment to give it a quick
look. If you see any additions/changes please contact me at:
mailto:[email protected] and I'll make the corrections.

Also, take a look at the bottom of this page:
http://www.hcra.org/contacts.htm and see who has selflessly donated to the
HCRA. They certainly deserve our thanks for helping keep our organization
financially sound and growing.

Board Meeting

The next board meeting will be at Irv's house on Thursday evening, December
12 at 7:30. If you have any input for this meeting please contact any board
member and we'll get it on the agenda.

ARRL 10M Contest

The membership decided to combine scores for an HCRA club entry this year.
Information about contest times, dates, logging and log submission will
follow on the mailing list within the next few days. This is always a fun
contest, a great way to add to your state/country standings, and hone your
operating skills. It's next weekend, so you won't have to wait long!
