Hill Country Amateur Radio Club. If you do not want to be notified of

Hi All,

This is the current FCC policy.

"When the FCC receives the candidate?s examination information from the 
ARRL VEC, they will email a link with payment instructions to each 
qualifying candidate and issue an application file number. The candidate 
will have 10 calendar days, from the date of the application file number 
being issued, to pay the $35 FCC application fee."

Would you reply to this message when you get time, reply to 
hcarc at mailman.qth.net to see how this will work as a notification that 
we will be having an upcoming VE test session and all the VE's 
subscribed to the reflector will know if we have at least 3 volunteers 
to make it happen.

*FCC Batch Filing System Unavailable

*As of Tuesday morning, February 13, 2024, the FCC Electronic Batch 
Filing (EBF) system used by all VEC organizations for filing exam 
sessions, individual applications, and club license applications, is 
*not processing* VEC files.

Unfortunately, this means applications for new and upgraded licenses, as 
well as individual and club license filings are not being accepted into 
their system for issuance.

ARRL VEC alerted FCC staff about the issue, which they are working to 
resolve. The EBF system was accessible on Monday, so we were able to 
submit hundreds of applications into the system before it went down on 
Tuesday.

*As soon as the EBF system becomes available and fully operational*, 
ARRL VEC will submit the backlog of sessions and applications.

Additionally, the FCC will be closed on Monday, February**19, 2024, for 
Presidents? Day and will reopen on Tuesday, February 20, at 8 AM EST.
Exam sessions and amateur applications are not normally processed by the 
FCC on holidays and will likely be further delayed until the EBF system 
is accessible.

Hi All,
Looks like we will have several candidates for the Exam Session on March 
9th.  If you plan on helping please post it here so all the VE's will 
know who is going to show up to help.  We will need at least 3 Extra 
class to have the session which will start at 1:00 PM at the station 
location.  All club volunteers who sign in will get credit for the 
session so come on out and maybe do a little operating at the club 
station, and meet the new hams.

Congratulations are in order for K3MGR who has now been certified as our 
newest Extra class Ve. Be sure and mention it to him when you see him.
