Club - giving you guys first shot at buying my Acom 1000 amplifier -
160m to 6m (not solid state.) It uses a GU-74 (4CX800) tube and the amp
will come with a new old stock spare final tube.
There's probably only 50 hours total use - I basically only used it to
check into the 75m RACES net on Monday night.
The amp will put out a solid 900 watts (solid carrier) or so with about
50-60 watts input and it can be serviced by DX Engineering if ever
required. DXE sells this amp for $2,759, I would like to get $1,900 for
it to save my marriage when the XYL sees the bill for the new amp ;-) It
comes with a plug for 220V (it will only run on 220V.)
I'm selling it because I have an Elecraft KPA1500 on order. The Acom is
almost bullet proof with protection built in. It's super easy to tune up
- just follow the instructions on the digital display. If anybody is
interested I'll be happy to demonstrate in my shack. (I did quite a bit
of research before I bought this 4 or 5 years ago, I think it's the best
tube based amp on the market.)

From DX Engineering:
ACOM 1000 HF + 6 Meter Linear Amplifiers are the world's best value in
an Amateur HF amplifier. These amps provide you a comfortable 1,000
watts output on all amateur bands from 160 through 6 meters.
The plate-load True Resistance Indicator (TRI) is a powerful tuning aid
which helps the operator to quickly and precisely match antennas. The
auto-operate function (when enabled) maintains the amplifier in OPERATE
mode for you, saving on manual operations. Broadband input matches to
the transceiver over the entire range of 1.8-54 MHz.
ACOM 1000 amplifiers are both user-friendly and look after themselves.
They are designed to safely withstand up to 300 watts reflected power,
drive spikes of up to 100 milliseconds duration, drive RF "tails" after
a PTT or KEY release and the operator's inadvertent tuning errors. They
also withstand a "soft" AC line and will deliver more than half power at
only 75 percent of nominal mains voltage. They can withstand voltage
drops for up to 10 milliseconds, and up to 15 percent higher
line-voltage spikes. These details are all important, particularly when
used at Field Day, on DXpeditions and other portable operations. Be sure
to read the SPECIAL Note, below.
A Svetlana 4CX800A (GU74B) high-performance ceramic/metal tetrode with
plate dissipation of 800 watts is employed. On-board processing provides
permanent monitoring and protection of plate and grid voltages and
currents, as well as the exhaust temperature.
Text messages, 12 different parameters, and strip peak-reading PEP meter
are displayed on a dot-matrix, back-lighted LCD. LED indicators are
provided for OPERATE, attenuator-on, and ON/OFF conditions. Records of
the amplifier internal status are stored in nonvolatile memory for the
seven most-recent auto-protection trips. This information is very
valuable should diagnostics be needed.
The input bypassing and the vacuum antenna relays are very quiet even in
CW mode due to their special mounting. This results in virtually
noise-free QSK!
ACOM-1000 details:

ACOM says that these are the "world's best value" in an Amateur HF
amplifier. Order one of these ACOM 1000 HF + 6M Linear Amplifiers from
DX Engineering and decide for yourself!
Note: During and after your amplifier's warranty period, DX Engineering
will provide service and repair for ACOM amplifiers. A repair fee will
be charged for services outside the warranty period.
