Thanks to all who participated in our Simplex Test on Monday. Of the 23
that signed into the Monday night net, 19 took part in the exercise. I was
net control located in our radio room at the Red Cross Chapter. The
following chart shows that of the 18 call ins on simplex, I only heard five.
My radio had a loud Hum and the incoming voice signal was wavering like the
frequency was shifting back and forth. The radio was not grounded and we
know the lights in the building are noisy as well as that section of town.
Having said that, of the 18 participants, all but two were heard by someone.
