It worked out great for me since I was (and still am) recovering from a bout of pneumonia in 3 of the 4 lobes of my lungs. I was able to watch the talk last night. This brings up the subject of needing to video many of our presentations and functions like Field Day and the Christmas Party for both posterity and to be able to share the info with other radio clubs. We have upcoming presentations from Greg Lewis on 2m simplex dx in February, and NWS Advanced Skywarn Training on Flooding in March. Both of these presentations should be videoed. We are looking for a club videographer, who can record the presentations in a .mp4 format that could possibly be posted to Youtube. I am not computer smart enough to be able to do it myself. I use my computer and camtasia along with a heil headphone/microphone to produce a video like this one: https://youtu.be/SKGYjkUujmI Camtasia will automatically convert it to mp4 for you and then you simply upload it to youtube. I did this one with a ipad a couple of years ago. https://youtu.be/w1LZ1FtDlLY The reason I mention it is you could probably use your iphone and a tripod if nobody doesn't have a decent video camera. I've been wanting to buy one but the funds simply have not been there. While my situation is not stable enough for me to volunteer, I am willing to mentor anybody that wants to do this for you if ya'll want my help. I do hope to purchase a video switch sometime this year which would give you the ability to use several cameras to capture different views, but you might not need/want that level of complexity. Been down with the flu myself this week so I definitely sympathize. I forgot it was to be an eclipse as well as all the other stuff. I can see the early morning and setting moon quite well thru my bedroom window. It lights up the drapes if it's clear. I never realized until I lived here how the moon and sun change positions with the seasons. In winter the moon sets to the northwest and sun to the southwest. In summer it's just the opposite with the sun blasting my back porch with solar heat, calling for shades if you want to sit out there. My house is oriented about east northeast, west southwest.
