[HCARC] 2018 Presentations - Where Are We??

Presentations have started to firm up through August depending on who speaks in April.  That leaves the other suggestions enumerated below.  New suggestions are always welcomed, especially if you know of a speaker.  SPEAK UP ABOUT WHAT INTERESTS YOU OR LIVE WITH WHAT INTERESTS ME. (You might be surprised where my mind can wander.)


January – Gerald Youngblood K5SDR on SDR (of course). – DONE

February – Hopefully Greg Lewis N5XO on 2m Simplex – DONE

March – SKYWARN Advanced trng on flooding.  Larry N5QGD has lead.- CONFIRMED

April – Possible FT8 or RTTY

May –  John H. AC4CA on Receiving Antennas – CONFIRMED

June – Field Day

July – Field Day wrap up.

Aug – Possible FT8 – Dale Gaudier K4DG 

Sept – Possible EME Basics.  Suggested by Warren KG4NPV

October – Possible RTTY presentation By Kerry Sandstrom K5KS 

November – Possible Radio – 80 years Ago Bill Tynan  W3XO

December – Christmas Party.

EME Basics – suggested by Warren S.  KG5NPV

DX Basics (especially for new hams) – Lew K.  W5LEW volunteered to do presentation

FT8 etc – Dale G.  K4DG volunteered to do presentation.

Those 7 added to the Field Day presentations (June and July) and the January Presentation by Gerald Youngblood of Flex Radio and Greg Lewis from Hamsters on 2m Simplex/DX just about fills out the year.  HOWEVER, if you have any other ideas please send them to me at N5BAA at HCTC.net.
