EchoLink has been down for a number of days and is now repaired. However, rather than reinstalling the unit here at my home, it will be installed in the club?s radio room. This is the second time EchoLink has failed while I was on vacation. Moving the unit to the radio room will give others access to fix the problem ( usually a simple reset) which they do not now have.

My new Comms trailer sits too far from the house Wifi to get a useable signal.  I need advice on getting a current technology Amp/Range Extender.  What specs should I be looking for and/or a product recommendation.  HELP!!

I the trailer do I connect directly to the range extender or does that connect to another modem??

Your far better off using high-gain (directional) antenna's than amps.

Remember use the best coax and short runs.  Coax losses are
a real "Killer" at 2.5 Ghz.

10' of RG-58 is 4.5 Db of loss at 2.5 Ghz.  WAY over 1/2 your power.
(use LMR400 for more than a couple of feet of coax)

Hill Country Electronics/Radio Shack here carries Ubiquity wifi radios.? 
They're expensive, but with Line of Sight, are good for about 10 miles.? 
Rock walls really kill wifi, so this sucker works great out here.? I use 
one to push wifi across a 35 acre field for my gps tablet.

Thank you to all who responded.  Gerry Midgely is setting me up with a pair 
of 2.4 gig antennas to enable internet to reach my new shack.

For all of you who don't use the Reflector, you are missing out on a 
valuable source of info, that would take hours of research on the net.

You could try a mesh network. That is what we are using to get internet from 
Harvey?s QTH to the repeater.

    Good morning DonYou know I'm not active CW but working the satellites on ssb is fun. I tried working one satellite this morning XW-2A but this time I did not get anybody but I did here somebody calling CQ and CW. Let's just to let you know the satellite tracking program I'm using is satpc32. And I'm not sure if you know this or not but there is another satellite tracking program that does not take over your rig, and that sound like program is called orbitron. It is an old program but it does work.Hope you have a great day.WD5ENHSteve

Help - I have a lolipop microphone I use on a vintage radio.? The 
cable's rubber sheathing is degrading and is extremely sticky.? It has 
left residue which has eaten into the finish on my desk.? Does anyone

For those of you that have received an email from "Iris by Lowe's" with 
a message saying you have been added to an Iris account:? You previously 
requested a pin number for access to the radio room.? The Iris hub is 
now up and running and has been programmed with the pin number 
previously issued to you.? The Iris hub controls the lock on the radio 
room door.? As part of its programming, it issues an email to each new 
user to the system. There is no further action need on your part, Iris 
is just letting you know that you have access to the radio room.
