    Good morning everyone I had the opportunity to read what Bill wrote several years ago how he got into amateur radio. And I actually looked at some of the equipment that he bought when he was a young boy. And how amateur radio influenced his working career. Even though he is not with us anymore and as I was driving to the church this morning I'm thinking at this time he's at the ultimate VHF UHF DX station, I'm sure he's doing some type of planet bouncing off of some other solar system. Sorry to hear of Bill's passing.  Had the opportunity to work with Bill when
I was the DOJ IRAC member and as the USN and Dept of Treasury member for the

Our dear friend, Bill Tynan, put one of the earliest (perhaps the first?) FM stereo stations on the air as an experimental station.  It?s call sign?  W3XO.  

(The station originally licensed as W3XO later was licensed in regular FM broadcasting service as WGMS [Washington?s Good Music Station].)

When the experimental station call sign block containing W3XO was transferred from experimental stations and became assignable to amateur stations, Bill applied for and was granted W3XO for his amateur station.

Ruth and I have donated 2 HT radio?s to be raffled off at the August meeting 
and will raffle off another one for the September meeting.

We also donated the grand prize for the Lunch and Learn a Yaesu FT 920 HF/6 
100 watt Base Station.

We have begun selling early RAFFLE tickets for the Grand Prize at last 
months meeting.

I am happy to say, that so far we have generated $145 in revenue from the 
early sale of raffle tickets?..all of the generated funds will go towards 
funding for the event - FOOD, PLATES, CUPS, DRINKS, ETC.

While the early sales are helping to generate funds, we will clearly still 
need to rely upon donations towards the event.

If you can help, please let us know??.

Donations of funds to help provide the food, additional prize offerings, 
etc.

We also need to start gathering personal to help provide training classes, 
etc.

If you can support this event with donations and or providing training??many 
people will be very grateful.

This event??has been a great event for the HAMsters, providing outstanding 
training, recruiting new members and promoting Weak Signal Training.

I hope Flex Radio will be on hand again for this event??..

Mrs. Mary Rudasill (owner of our repeater site) needs help with her
computer.

It was Win 7 and then upgraded (?) to Win 10, so I guess it's not too old.  

She can't get it to do anything.

Could someone please go bye there and see if you can get it going for her.

Her phone no. is 367-2851.  Her mobile home is at 2851 Jct. Hwy on the south
side of Hwy 16.

There's a big open field in front of it and another house.

Please call and see when you could come out there.  Fri. and Mon, Tue. Might
be the best days.
