Subject: Four Inch Hailstone in Medina

Hi Gary,
Just want to thank you and Mr. Gordon Green for
providing the hail report and hail photo!
We have used it on social media and it has shown
up on many places including a number of TV outlets.

One thing it does do, it highlights the value of reporting
severe weather to the NWS so we can use that as part
of the warning/decision making process. It also
demonstrates the proper way to measure hail, that is
the largest diameter of the largest hailstone found.

An interesting statistic... there have only been four
events in Texas that have had four inch hailstones in
the month of January! Three of the events were in east
Texas, and now one in south Texas!

Thank y'all many times over!
Steve
