[HCARC] Solar Activity 4

There were 2 more C-class flares today, both from the older sunspot
group.  The 2 sunspot groups seem to be taking turns, one day the flares
are from the new group and then the next day the flares are from the
older group.  The last 2 or 3 days there as been a single small sunspot
in a new small active region between the two larger groups.  This hasn't
been counted as new group yet probably because the single sunspot keeps
appearing and disappearing.  There is a chance it might grow and make
things even more interesting.  The solar flux value for today was 90 so
it is still slowly climbing.  There have been a lot of indications of
sporadic E on the ionograms the last several days.  It probably doesn't
make it to 6 m but it probably does help out 20 and maybe 15 and 10 m.
When I lived in San Antonio in the 70's and 80's, a solar flux value of
100 in September was high enough to open the 10 m CW band to central
Europe some mornings.  In spite of the poor conditions I believe we're
getting close to some interesting conditions - but no promises!  Keep
checking 15 m to the NE in the morning and NW in the evening.
